Abstract

The kinetics of the sulfidation of half-calcined dolomite have been studied over a wide range of reaction conditions in terms of reaction rate and solid phase structure. The rate of reaction shows a strong dependence on temperature, pellet size, and H2S partial pressure. Analysis of both rate and solid phase structure data indicates that the sulfidation reaction proceeds topochemically on the pellet level with two interfaces below 780° C and with three interfaces above that temperature.
