Abstract

The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is of prime importance in multiple energy storage devices [1]. IrOx-based catalysts are thought to be the most promising candidates in acidic media, but have been limited by their high cost. Choosing suitable substrates for such catalysts are effective to reduce the Ir consumption as well as beneficial for the OER performance[2 - 4]. Here, we focus on the catalytic mechanism for a newly synthesized IrOx-based composite material which shows an excellent OER performance in acidic media. The catalytic mechanism has been revealed mainly based on in-situ measurements and DFT calculations. The detail mechanism will de presented at the meeting.
