Abstract

1,2-W2(CH2Ph)2(OPri)4(WW) reacts in hydrocarbon solvents at ambient temperatures with MeCCMe to give initially (η2-C2Me2)(PhCH2)(PriO)W(µ-OPri)2W(OPri)(CH2Ph)(η2-C2Me2), which has a puckered central W2(µ-OR)2 core, W–W 2.67 A, and eliminates one equivalent of toluene with the formation of the novel compound W2(H)(OPri)4(µ-C4Me4)-(µ-CPh) upon heating to +60 °C.
