Abstract

In the technology review by Dıaz-Santos et al. in the December 2008 issue of Radiotherapy and Oncology, the safety and efficacy of the CyberKnife robotic stereotactic radiosurgery system (SRS) were evaluated based on clinical literature published from 2000 to 2007. Their conclusion was that the quality of the published evidence was low, therefore “no definitive conclusions can be drawn on either the safety or efficacy of this technique.” We acknowledge weaknesses in the published research in robotic radiosurgery.
