Abstract
Can the UK electricity networks accommodate the 2010 Renewable Target and the UK Government's aspiration of doubling that target by 2020? This was the question that Mott MacDonald answered as part of a study commissioned by the Carbon Trust and the DTI on behalf of the DTI's Renewables Advisory Board 1 . Isabel Boira-Segarra and Simon Luby, Mott MacDonald draw on the report's analysis and conclusions and discuss the transmission and distribution network issues raised by adding increasing numbers of renewable projects in order to achieve the 2010 renewable target 2 .
