Abstract

Freitag et al1 conducted a comprehensive review of sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy for eyelid and conjunctival malignancies in an Ophthalmic Technology Assessment report from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and conclude that SLN biopsy is “a promising procedure in patients with eyelid and conjunctival malignancy, and it is useful in identifying sentinel lymph nodes.”1 Having studied and published on this topic for the last 2 decades and based on the routine use of SLN biopsy at our center for most of the entities mentioned in this comprehensive review, I agree with most of the author’s conclusions.
