Abstract
東京層の模式コアセクション（代々木公園コア）の層相，テフラ，花粉化石群集等に基づき東京層の層序を再検討した．コアの層相及び既存ボーリングデータの解析から，東京層は開析谷埋積層である下部とそれとは対照的に広範囲に比較的平坦に分布する上部に分けられる．これらは1回の海進・海退で形成された堆積サイクルである．東京層はKlPテフラ（MIS 5e後期）を挟む下末吉ローム層に覆われる．また東京層の下部から産出する花粉群集は鹿島沖海底コアのMIS 5e前期から中期の群集に比較可能である．よって模式コアセクションの東京層は主に最終間氷期であるMIS 5eに形成されたと考えられ，千葉県北部地域の下総層群木下層，世田谷地域の世田谷層及び東京層に相当する一連の堆積物に対比される．しかし東京都内の他地域で東京層と呼ばれている地層が同一の地層とは限らないため，東京層についてはさらなる検討が必要である．
