Abstract
First, we thank the readers for their interest in our article.1 We absolutely agree that the topic is controversial and that the literature published on the subject is scarce. Indeed, we presented this systematic review as an alternative treatment for middle-aged or elderly patients for whom surgery and orthodontic traction are not possible, and/or those who refuse to undergo more invasive extraction surgery, but never as the first treatment option.
