Abstract

Two lesser known stenoendemic species viz., Helichrysum wightii C.B. Clarke ex Hook.f. and Vernonia malabarica Hook.f., of Asteraceae have been rediscovered/recollected after a century from their respective type localities. Helichrysum wightii has been rediscovered after 139 years, whereas the Vernonia malabarica has been recollected after 128 years. A detailed taxonomic account, along with colour photo plate of these species and assessment of their conservation status are provided in the present communication to facilitate easy identification and conservation.
