Abstract
“Mighty Whale” is floating wave power device with air turbines which can absorb the wave energy efficiently and convert to electric power or compressed air. Such converted energy can be utilizes for the conservation of coastal environment. It will be moored by chains at the offing of the coast of Japan in 1998, and the open sea test will be carried out by 2000. In this paper, the out line of R&D on this “Mighty Whale” will be introduced.
