Abstract
The Encrucijada Granite was emplaced in the Imataca Complex of the Venezuelan Guayana Shield 2110 ± 87m.y. ago as determined from an Rb-Sr isochron plot of whole-rock samples. A single sample of remelted or granitized Imataca paragneiss gives an apparent age of 2900 m.y.
