Abstract
Rb-Sr ages have been determined for whole rock and feldspar samples from granophyric phases of the Nipissing diabase which intrudes Huronian sediments along the north shore of Lake Huron. Interpretation of the data yields a minimum value of 1755±100 m.y. and a probable value of 2170±200 m.y. for the age of the diabase. An age of 276±80 m.y. is also reported for the pre-Huronian granite.
