Introduction

Raw material places many important roles in the production process. Without enough quantity of raw material, the production process can be interrupted. The quality of raw material affects the quality of finished product. The case presented in this paper took place in a glove manufacturer company located at Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which produces gloves from genuine sheep leather as the raw material. It is known that the quality of glove is directly affected by the quality of the sheep leather used. According to Yadav and Sharma (2016) it is impossible for a company to reach its competitive advantage, i.e. providing product or service with low cost, without having appropriate supplier. A process to select the best supplier is important for the company (Chen et al, 2006; Gencer & Gürpinar, 2007; Kang & Lee, 2010; Agarwal et al, 2011). Research on supplier selection have been conducted in various type of industry, such as automotive industries
