Abstract
Vibrational characteristics are an important factor influencing the layout and suspension concept of automotive exhaust systems. In order to assist decision-making with regard to the layout during the concept and quotation phases, BMW and Zeuna Starker have jointly developed the RAVE modelling tool that permits the rapid generation of a modular FE-based concept model of the exhaust system. The tool allows the generation and calculation of a large number of variants for hanger loads and comparative modal vibration analyses.
