Abstract

Cancer Phototherapy The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) plays an important role in protein synthesis, processing and secretion. ER-targeting phototherapy significantly amplifies ER stress, promotes tumor antigen release, and elicits a robust immunogenic cell death. In article number 2202728 by Weidong Wang, Junping Wang, Shenglin Luo, and co-workers, a small molecular heptamethine cyanine photosensitizer with binitro-substituted benzenesulfonamide (ER-Cy-poNO2) is designed and synthesized for tumor photodynamic therapy/photothermal therapy/immunotherapy by targeting the ER.
