Abstract

The development of high-capacity and long-life anode materials for lithium ion batteries (LIBs) is highly important for future portable electronic devices and hybrid electric vehicles. In this talk, I will present my recent advances on how to rationally design new classes of stable anode nanomaterials for boosting the performance of LIBs. I will start with speaking on the development of hydrothermal technique for the synthesis of MnO/C nanopeapods with sufficient internal void space for greatly enhancing the capacity, rate capability and long-term stability of LIBs. Then, I will move to another novel structure-Fe3O4@Fe3C core@shell nanoparticles-carbon yolk-shell nanospindles for long-lived lithium ion storage.
