Abstract

An integral part of patient management has always been follow up. This is especially important in pediatric ophthalmology, as it facilitates monitoring of ophthalmic conditions during vital stages of eye development. Current research regarding loss to follow up in this area is limited. This retrospective chart review compares adult/pediatric follow up rates, and explores reasons why patients are lost to follow up. The study endeavours to develop strategies to address loss to follow-up, thereby improving quality of clinical care.
