Abstract

this paper proposes a new simple technique for minimization of Coriolis vibratory gyroscope (CVG) initial bias. This technique can be applied to MEMS and non-MEMS rate CVGs. It can most effectively be used for low-cost CVGs which have the remaining mass imbalance resulting in Q-factor and frequency mismatches. The idea is based on dependency of a CVG bias and scale factor on standing wave angular position with respect to the drive electrode.
