Abstract

A specific case of the generalCarreau rate-dependent integral viscoelastic model (1), the MBC-model (9), is evaluated with steady simple shear data, small amplitude oscillatory shear data, stress growth data, and stress relaxation data for four polymer solutions. The model is shown to be superior to several other models in its ability to describe all of the data simultaneously. A partial assessment of the model predictions for large amplitude oscillatory shear is given also.
