Abstract

Rate constants for the rotational excitation of NH 3 colliding with rotationally excited H 2 are calculated using a semiclassical coupled-states method. By including the possibility of having H 2 in a rotationally excited state the overall comparison of the calculated rate constants with double-resonance experiment data improved compared to our previous studies although a discrepancy remains for the n-H 2 versus para-H 2 differences.
