Abstract

This letter investigates the joint uplink-downlink user matching and power control strategy in a small cell where the base station is full-duplex (FD) enabled. The strategy is applicable to some emerging scenarios, e.g., vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications, in which the transmission rate of each user should be guaranteed with best effort. Specifically, we formulate a user matching combined with power control optimization problem, with the goal of maximizing the number of rate-satisfied user pairs. The problem is then decoupled into two subproblems for ease of handling, wherein the joint user matching and uplink power control subproblem is addressed by graph-based algorithm, while the downlink power control subproblem is addressed via iterating through all the possible value ranges. The two subproblems are performed alternatively till the convergence. Simulation results show that our proposed strategy outperforms the fairness-oriented and sum-rate-oriented strategies.
