Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine 11 high risk factors of metabolic syndrome using a statistical method of Rasch model and provide basic materials for healthy life in middle-aged women. In order to achieve this purpose, 256 middle-aged women were selected. They were required to join regular sports for all programs and have no medication history for hypertension or diabetes for recent 6 months. Finally, the following results were obtained. For high risk factors of metabolic syndrome, the highest factor was obesity degree(%), followed by triglyceride, waist girth, and fasting plasma glucose. Younger age was related with lower risk of metabolic syndrome. Accordingly, it is necessary to prevent metabolic syndrome by the promotion of physical fitness through joining sports for all activity constantly and the improvement of life and dietary habits.
