Abstract

Basal cell adenocarcinoma of the parotid gland is a low-grade malignancy that rarely metastasizes. We described a 32-year-old man with history of a right total parotidectomy for basal cell adenocarcinoma of the parotid gland 5 years ago, presenting with severe headache. A brain MRI revealed enhancing brain lesions that were confirmed as metastases from the parotid gland malignancy. A body FDG PET/CT demonstrated 2 mildly hypermetabolic lesions in the lungs, with pathology showing metastatic basal cell adenocarcinoma of the parotid gland.
