Abstract

A 30-year-old man presented to our hospital with left-sided chest pain, productive cough, streaky hemoptysis, and breathlessness on exertion for 20 days. He used to smoke bidis (30/d for the past 15 years) and elicited a history of smoking marijuana for the past 3 years. At admission, he had a respiratory rate of 26 breaths/minute, blood pressure of 110/70 mm Hg, and heart rate of 90 beats/min. The oxygen saturation was 98% while breathing ambient air. During the evaluation, he was noted to have elevated glycated hemoglobin of 18.4%.
