Abstract

A novel control scheme for fast laser diode (LD) wavelength switching with rapid stabilisation is proposed, which is the key technology for wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) data cell transfer networks. The obtained characteristics are suitable for 600 Mbit/s asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell transfer networks. The proposed control scheme can be applied to over 10 Gbit/s cell speed networks.
