Abstract

A rapid spectrophotometric method employing zinc dibenzyldithiocarbamate is described for determining copper in a wide variety of steels. The acidity is not critical (0.5–2N) and the colour of the complex is stable for /s > 1 hr. The range of the method is 0.005–5% copper and 6 samples can be analysed in about an hour.
