Abstract

Rapid racemization of optically active amino acids has been developed in a Teflon vial reactor by using the commercial microwave oven as heating source. Compared with the conventional methods of racemization, there are two main advantages: (I) The whole process of racemization by this method can be completed within 2 min. (II) It can prevent the decomposition of some labile amino acids at high temperature.
