Abstract
A rapid and simple method for identification of the synthetic repellent compounds such as DEET and BAAPE has been developed based on direct analysis in real time mass spectrometry(DART-MS). Through this method, the synthetic compounds in natural repellent products can be identified by comparison of characteristic mass spectrometric signals. Without any sample pretreatment, all of these were achieved at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. This method greatly reduces the analysis time, with the advantages of accurate, high throughput and in situ.
