Abstract
Rapid gas chromatographic analyses are necessary in industrial routine control operations that are carried out by means of laboratory or process gas chromatography. A reduction in the analysis time by a factor of 2–5 can be easily achieved without the need for additional chromatographic equipment by using micropacked columns of Spherosil. In order to carry out rapid analyses on Spherosil in either gas-solid or modified gas-solid chromatography, several parameters can be varied: carrier gas linear velocity, column diameter, particle size range, etc. Some examples are given to show the potentialities of Spherosil in separating various molecules.
