Abstract

The development of Z-scheme heterojunction is a frequently-used way to boost photogenerated electrons separation and migration for obtaining excellent photocatalytic performance. Hence W18O49/BiOBr Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst was macroscopically synthesized via high-production mechanical ball milling method. Attributed to the synergistic effect of Z-scheme heterojunction and LSPR effect, W18O49/BiOBr composites possessed remarkably strengthened visible light absorption and rapid photogenerated electrons migration performance. In comparison with pure BiOBr, 2 wt% W18O49/BiOBr composites possessed highly photocatalytic degradation performance for methyl orange (MO), tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) and good stability. Consequently, this work extends the application of ball milling method in photocatalyst preparation and contaminant treatment field.
