Abstract

Simple and rapid spectrophotometric methods were proposed for the determination of microamounts of iron and copper in pure tin.A large amount of tin (1V) was masked by tartaric acid, and influences of other impurities were removed by EDTA.The iron and copper were determined spectrophotometrically with o-phenanthroline and sodium diethyldithiocarbamate, respectively. The time for an analysis was remarkably reduced and the analytical results were in good agreement with those by JIS and other methods.
