Abstract
Here we present a simple, clean and eco-friendly synthesis procedure of copper nanoparticles from copper sulphate solution using flower extract of Eichhornia crassipes along with its hydrogen peroxide detectability study. Production of copper nanoparticles was initially verified by scanning the reacting solution under ultraviolet visible (UV–Vis) spectrometer. The pattern of X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed different phases and crystallinity of these biogenic nanoparticles. Size and morphology of copper nanoparticles were examined by high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Result of Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy helped to identify the organic molecules which capped and stabilized the colloidal particles in the solution during production. In addition, the H2O2 sensing ability of these bioengineered copper nanoparticles was tested and the suspension of Cu nanoparticles was observed to detect the hazardous hydrogen peroxide instantly.
