Abstract

A technique for assessing the levels of emulsifiers in industrial coolants on the basis of the dilution required to achieve critical micelle concentration is described. The technique was used to compare fungally degraded coolant samples with appropriate control samples and results were obtained which provided evidence of emulsifier depletion in the degraded samples.
