Abstract

A new species of the Ranunculus auricomus complex, Ranunculus farraensis sp. nov. is described and depicted. Specimens of it were detected at the Herbarium Dresde (DR), in material collected in 1955 by C. Zirnich. Its actual occurrence has been recently confirmed in the Farra mountains, in Gorizia province. Due to small population size and continuing eutrophication of the remaining forest, R. farraensis is at risk of extinction.
