Abstract
This chapter discusses ranks and order statistics. It describes the normal approximation and the computation of asymptotic efficiencies for the two-sample rank statistics. To approximate the rank statistic by a sum of independent random variables, no fewer than six remainder terms to tend to zero, each for its own particular reason.
