Abstract

This chapter introduces rankings of countries according to energy, per capita arable land, water resources, and expenditure on medical and health care, respectively. For example, apart from the coal index, China’s per capita energy production is much lower than that of developed countries. China’s per capita arable land ranks 144th among 209 countries or regions. China’s per capita water resources are only 25% of the world’s average level. The United States’ per capita expenditure on medical and health care (using the PPP method) is 18.53 times that of China.
