Abstract

In this paper, the existence of rank one strange attractors in a Lotka–Volterra predator–prey system with time delay is studied. By using the theory of normal form method and center manifold, the conditions of Hopf bifurcations are given. Based on the theory of rank one map formulated by Wang and Young and developed by us for delayed systems, rank one strange attractors are observed for periodically kicked delayed system. Numerical simulations supporting the theoretical results are included.
