Abstract

Patient-held records are usually “medically driven”, containing details which duplicate the clinical record.1,2 The UK Calman-Hine report inspired cancer services to design such structured patient-held records.3 By contrast, an unstructured booklet in which patients record their concerns can be considered as “patient driven”.4,5 Our study assessed the preferred format of a patient-held record in oncology.
