Abstract
Analytical and numerical results are reported for the dynamic responses of elastic beams and circular plates resting on viscoelastic foundations and excited by stationary, wide-band random forces. Each viscoelastic foundation is treated as a series of an infinite number of many spring-dashpot systems. Three different types of linear viscoelastic models, namely, the Kelvin-Voigt, Maxwell, and Linear Standard Solid, are considered. Numerical results are presented for free-edged elastic beams and circular plates.
