Abstract

The results of low-temperature ac susceptibility, dc magnetization, magnetic relaxation, specific heat, and electrical resistivity measurements on the uranium intermetallic compound UCuSi, a hexagonalCeCd2-type non-magnetic atom disorder system, are reported. The results establish that a spin-glassstate is formed in this compound at low temperature. Some dynamical parameterscharacterizing the spin freezing state of this system, such as static spin freezing temperatureTs, criticalexponent zν, andactivation energy Ea, are determined from dynamical analysis of the ac susceptibility data. The observedproperties are discussed based on a magnetic cluster model.
