Abstract
System parameter variations due to random noise may significantly alter predicted performance of a power converter. In this paper, an experimental setup to verify the existence of noise and its statistical properties in a switching pulse-width modulated (PWM) DC-DC converter is presented. We present a converter model that captures the effect of these inherent random noises on the overall behavior of a practical converter. We also propose a performance index quantifying the converter performance under the influence of random noise.
