Abstract

Due to the great potential that random finite set theory shows under the background of the cybersecurity of cyber-physical systems, a comprehensive review on the application of random finite set theory to the cybersecurity of cyber-physical systems is presented in this manuscript. Specifically, the random finite set theory based solutions to two typical cybersecurity problems, i.e., joint attack detection and state estimation and multiple attacks detection, are introduced. After that, a new RFS theory based solution to the MAD problem is proposed, which shows better detection performance than the existing methods.
