Abstract

Coffee has become the superior product of Pinogu District with a distinctive taste with natural processing which makes this coffee categorized as organic coffee so it has a high selling value. The problem is, the process of drying coffee in the sun is often constrained by the weather so that the product produced is less than optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to develop appropriate technology in the form of hybrid drying houses. The design of the drying housing made of steel and polycarbonate is expected to speed up the drying time. The result is that drying time efficiency is 5.6 times faster than conventional methods, and can also save space, and is able to dry as much as 240 kg of coffee in one process. In addition, drying using this method can also reduce contamination in coffee, so as to improve coffee quality
