Abstract

Akrami & Subias (2008) described Ramusella (Insculptoppia) iranica from Ramsar, Mazandaran Province, northern Iran. Four years later, Behmanesh et al. (2012) described adult stage of Ramusella (Ramusella) iranica Behmanesh, Akrami & Subias, 2012 from Shiraz, Fars Province, southern Iran. It is clear that R. (R.) iranica Behmanesh et al., 2012 is a junior primary homonym of R. (I.) iranica Akrami & Subias, 2008. Therefore, the name Ramusella (R.) iranica is replaced with R. (R.) persica nom. nov. [http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:FB4D4584-D911-438F-860E-D75DD6345 09] here, in application of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, Article 57 (ICZN 2000). The name refers to the type locality, Persica, the old name of Iran. This replacement name has already been proposed by Behmanesh, Akrami & Subias (2013) in Subias (2013), but that document was issued in electronic form only and was not registered in ZooBank, so Ramusella (R.) persica Behmanesh, Akrami & Subias, 2013 is a nomen nudum (ICZN 2012).
