Abstract

A new dipole beam optics system has been designed and incorporated into the primary frequency standard Cs-3(NIM) since 1984. The advantages of the standard with the said system was confirmed experimentally. One interesting consequence was that several subsidiary Ramsey maxima, due to the narrow velocity range, were predicted and observed. Measured and calculated Ramsey patterns were in agreement.
