Abstract
It is shown that a new consistent truncation for the Ramond field allows the construction of an action for the Ramond-Ramond sector of the closed string. The action is gauge invariant and can be gauge fixed to the light-cone degrees of freedom. It can be extended to the Ramond-Neveu Schwarz sector.
