Abstract

Tellurite glasses are known as a promising material for optical fiber fabrication thanks to the specific optical and thermo-mechanical features. This paper shows tellurite glasses doped with different concentrations of various rare earth ions characterized by Raman spectroscopy. Especial attention was paid to the low frequency `Boson peak' and the modes of vibration which correspond to TeO 4 and TeO 3 structural units. The results show interesting correlation between structural order and rare earth ions concentration.
