Abstract

Polarized Raman spectra of LiF, NaF, and CsF and preliminary unpolarized spectra of KF and RbF have been measured at 300°K. These spectra are compared with spectra predicted recently by Hardy and Karo, or with the two-phonon density of states. The calculated spectra are in good agreement for LiF and NaF, but show a 20 per cent discrepancy in peak positions and a different polarization in CsF.
