Abstract

Abstract Strontium barium niobate is a ferroelectric solid solution with tetragonal tungsten bronze structure. SBN described by the formula (SrxBa1-x) Nb2O6 with x = 0.25 to 0.75 is a room temperature ferroelectric crystal of space group P4bm. We have investigated the Raman spectrum and ferroelectric properties in order to study the effect of doping Na+ and the variation of Sr/Ba ratio. The 6471-Å line of a coherent radiation Krypton ion laser having an output power of 200 mW was used as the Raman source.
