Abstract
The IR and RS spectra for polycrystalline and single crystals of double potassium-lanthanide tungstates of the α-KLn(WO 4 ) 2 family were measured, where Ln = Y, Ce - Lu. The molecular and crystal structures were analysed in terms of monoclinic unit cells of C 3 2h nad C 6 2h symmetries. A comparison of vibrational spectra measured for isomorphic crystals of several rare earth elements was used to describe the internal and external optic modes.
